"Oh c'mon, that's gross! Only dogs like St Bernards drool like that!" she exclaimed, rolling out from under him before the drool hit. She quickly got up to her hands and knees, eyes narrowing playfully yet evily at Derek. You wanna play like that? she thought, digging her feet into the ground. She quickly sprung forward in a pouncing motion to tackle Derek!

Derek caught sight, and let her take him down. He was having too much fun. He growled out in excitement and fun. He tried to adjust to lick her face, but he couldn't. He looked up at her, puppy eyed pout already in progress.

Rift landed on top of Derek, her legs to either side of his torso. Her arms quickly went to his arms in a type of pin. Obviously Derek could easily move her if he so wanted, as Rift wasn't overly strong physically. She glanced down as he was already beginning the puppy pot again. "You need a collar, little puppy," she said very seriously, a glimmer in her eyes.

"Maybe.", he answered with a questioning tone in his voice. "I dobt you'd get it on me unless I was willing.", Derek growled out. Now, he had to cross his legs again. Which he did pretty slow, because he was distracted by the cute girl pinning him. "your fiesty.", he said.

"Can be," she responded, thinking of ways to get her hands on collars. "I could always put a collar on you while you slept," she suggested, tilting her head a bit. She leaned down close to his face, a small grin on her face. "What do you think about that?"

"I might like that.", he said with a hint of growling, however, he flipped. Well, twisted so that she'd be kncked off him. He got on top of her. "Quiet.", he said, standing up slowly. Gunfire could be heard. "Hunters, probably just a few rednecks.", Derek suggested. "We should ge--", he heard, being cut off as he twisted and fell. Derek's leg had been grazed by the shot. He was bleeding, but would be fine.

The hunters seemed to run after that.

Rift's heart thudded in her chest. At first because...well, he was on top of her, but then it was because of how serious he was. She heard the gun fire off in the distance, the smell of gun powder filling the air. As he fell, she quickly got up, running and kneeling beside him. There was something wrong with this. If they had been hunters, why weren't they using buck shots...and why were they shooting off so near a building?! She bared her teeth, looking into the distance to see if she could see anything, but whomever had done it ran off.

She turned back to Derek, his leg bleeding. "You alright?" she asked with sincere sympathy for once. She turned, gently touching his leg to see the wound. "It only grazed you. I don't think there's anything inside...who the heck shoots off guns near a mental institute?!" she then snapped, turning back to the open field. She truly seemed irked by the situation, and ready to snap at someone.

"Hey, no worry, your fine, I'm okay, I could smell the alcohol on their breath, they'll probably pass out.", he said. "Like I said, rednecks.", with a grin. "Look, it's my fault, If I hadn't of reacted I doubt they would've shot, so I'm telling you to calm down.", he said pulling her into a hug.

Rift sighed, before collapsing on top of Derek as he pulled her down. She felt a sudden release of her tension, all her muscles relaxing as she lay there hair spread across them. She was silent for a moment, before lifting her head. She looked up toward Derek's face for a moment, then blinked shaking her head. "We...should get you patched up or something...that's gonna need stitches," she said, turning her eyes down to the grass.

"It can wait.", he said, not wanting to explain this to Figgs. He seen her turn away. "I know how I feel, I've tried making it obvious.", he said, grabbing her jaw and forcing her to look. "The stitches can wait, I'd rather you'd be okay instead, and if your uncomfortable you need to say so.", he growled out.

Rift blushed, eyes wide in surprise as he turned her face. Unfortunately, the rough handling...got to her. She pushed herself forward into him, wrapping her arms along his neck. She pressed her lips into his passionately, closing her eyes. She knew very well where he had been trying to lead her all day...and even part of the night. He simply hadn't been very forceful, which only brought out her timid side.

His hands went around her back. He smiled inside his head, satisfied that he found a way that she'd come onto him. He knew well enough where her arms were, and kissed back. The reaction to this? Derek closed his eyes and enjoyed every second. He was even surprised it took one forced move to make their kiss happen. But yet, Derek twitched again. Eyes opened, looking up past Rift. Figures engulfed in the shadows, he'd say nothing about, but she could probably feel his heartbeat rising. He'd say abosolutely nothing, because the kiss was priceless to Derek. It was what he expected from Rift.

But it drove him insane to have someone watching him. So, that as he stood up, he made sure to keep her suspened in the air. He was obviously strong, holding her with one hand behind her back, as Derek moved his head onto her shoulder and embraced her in a hug. "Thank you.", he whispered in a sweet tone. Then he turned his attention to the person watching.

Mrs. Figgs seemed upset. Not only had Rift injured Derek, but both, who seemed highly unlikely were getting ready to have sex. Her face was in shock after Derek stood up, holding her off the ground. She snapped. "DEREK!", she said, anger in her voice. "Set her down this minute, she's cut you!", Mrs. Figgs said.

Derek eyed her. He merely grolwed, not letting Rift go. But yet, Mrs. Figgs had him well too distracted. "Mrs. Figgs, we have free will, I hurt myself, I'm fine, it was an accident.", Derek tried to reason with her.

But his grip on Rift seemed to loosen, along with his balance. Madame Brandy revealed herself as she strode towards Mrs. Figgs from behind Derek, hlding an emtpy syringe. "My my, your very resistant to drugs, aren't you?", she said, as Derek managed to keep his grip, however loose it was. "Back...off!", he splurred out in some sort of growl.

"Now Rift, get away from Derek, he's dangerous and could hurt you.", Madame Brandy said to her, as Mrs. Figgs nodded in agreement.

Rift's neck hairs stood on end as she felt eyes on her. She hated that feeling. She had it every night laying in the darkness. As Derek stood, her eyes flickered open. Her head slowly turned to the side, where she could see Mr.s Figgs from the corner of her eyes. There was no doubt in her mind that their current situation looked...bad.

Rift flinched, clinging close to Derek at Mrs. Figgs abruptly loud voice. Her heart thudded in her chest. Fantastic...just one day in and she was already in trouble. Derek swaggered a bit, seeming to be giving into the drugs. Rift merely clung to him, wrapping her arms around his waist. "No, no, no..." she whispered as her feet touched the ground lightly, Derek's balance slowly going.

"I didn't...I wouldn't..." she uttered. She didn't cut him, why would she cut him? She glanced up as another staff member walked around, syringe in hand. He had been drugged again. "No, no, no!" she said once more, louder as she glanced up to Derek. He was starting to lose against the drugs, and Rift was worried...for both of them.

"No...I wont...he's not..." she said quietly, looking back to Figgs and Brandy. "We...we weren't doing anything wrong..." she stuttered a bit, still holding herself close to Derek. Of course, she didn't know his true condition yet either.

"NO!", Derek growled out. He looked at them. "We haven't done anything wrong, and I'll make sure of it!", he said, the drugs bringing out a more violent side. He growled loudly, backing off while making his grip on Rift tighter. But then it hit him.

"Rift, there's no point in me fighting them, I should just go.", he whispered to her as he nibbled on her neck in fear. Brandy and Mrs. Figgs stared at them as Derek did his action.

Rift gasped a bit as Derek held her tighter. He never did really tell her why he was here. Sure, he said comas, but never said what exactly caused them... She glanced up at him as his entire personality seemed to take a switch. "But..." she uttered, tilting her head down into him as he went to her neck.

She glanced back at Mrs. Figgs coldly. She couldn't understand why they drugged him again, nor why they had such a problem. After all, it's not like they were naked or anything!

"It's okay, they think I'm going to hurt you, with my hands, like I did my foster family.", Derek said.

Brandy and Figgs backed off as the sound of a bus drove into the driveway. They fled into the house.

Drek released his grip on Rift as he collasped to the ground, trying to smile. "Hey, you wanna continue?", he asked, motioning her to lay down and join him.

Rift watched as the two staff fled the scene, Derek collapsing to the ground. She knelt, looking down at him and brushing some of her hair behind her ear. "What was with that?" she asked, glancing back to the doors where the two had fled before looking back down to Derek. "What happened to them? Your family..." she asked, laying on her stomach near him, semi curling to her side and resting her head on her arm.

"mm.", he mumbled. "I dont' wanna talk about what happened, maybe tomorrow, but I want to get around all these surprised druggings because their worried I'll injure someone.", he said. He looked at her. Leaning in, before whispering, "Let's continue and I'll tell you what I did.", he said, meeting the lips he wanted since yesterday.

Rift felt shaky. He was acting suspicious, yet she let herself fall right into his arms. Right into another kiss. She couldn't resist him, and something about that irked her. Still, she let herself go. She closed her eyes wrapping her arms around his neck, fingers entangling and playing with his hair.

Derek moved back for breath. "Look, I swear, I'll tell you what happened tomorrow, with my foster family, and why I'm here.", he said, nibbling on her lip after finishing his sentence. Derek couldn't describe how it felt to be with Rift, a girl who seemed like she needed protection, but was fun enough to fight back. He left her in a hug, and would let her go when she wanted to go, Derek however, had to stay outside, and he would usher her inside.

The sun was beginning to set now as Rift sat there in his lap, holding onto Derek. She didn't want to let go, but shivered with a chill as a cool evening wind blew. She lifted her head, taking a look around. She nodded in agreement, "Alright...tomorrow..." she said quietly. "It's starting to get late...what time is curfew?" she asked, standing up and rubbing her arms.

She wanted him to come with her, but as he ushered her through the door it was obvious he wasn't. She turned back to the door, unknowing why he would do such a thing. She felt like there was a weight in her chest, but turned away. "My window..." she whispered, slowly walking back to her room.

Fighting the stubborn window, she finally got it to budge. She propped it open, kneeling next to it and letting the cool air blow in. She wondered what Derek was doing outside, but the staff didn't seem to yell at him for staying out there. She inhaled deeply, releasing her breath as she stood and walked back to her bed. She spun, falling back across it with her legs dangling over the edge facing the window.

Derek stood outside, on all fours as he vomited. His muscles spasms. He knew he couldn't have been very quiet, growling violently as his muscles twitched. He howled at the fuul moon emerging from behind the black clouds of the night. Derek's bones slowly snapped and cracked, as he howled out in pain.

Rift's eyes flickered open from her light resting state. It was something she'd learned to do a while back. She was resting, without truly sleeping. It avoided her nightmares and still allowed her body some recoup time. At the second howl, she sat up to face the window. She was still wearing her clothes from earlier, having not changed.

She scooted to the edge of the bed. Her heart thudded in her chest a bit as she slid off to the floor, kneeling. She crawled over to the open window, fingers slowly wrapping against the sill as she peeked out it. "Wolves?" she whispered to herself wondering. "I wonder if Derek ever came back inside..." she said aloud, worried for him outside with wolves on the loose.

Derek's voice echoed as a scream. As a howl. The thing he screamed? Haydee. He screamed the name as loud as he could, all while he convulsed and launched his body around violently. With his bones cracking, he thought he'd die.

Rift's eyes widened. No, he hadn't come inside. That had to be him. Barefoot, she quickly crawled out the window. Not even the broken glass in the frame seemed to bother her much more than causing a slight limp as she began to run. Her feet quickly rushed across the ground, causing the grass to bend and lay flat in her wake. She quickly ran toward Derek's voice, hoping he was alright.
