Derek didn't seem to want to answer. He looked down for a while, then looked at her. "I wanted to give it to you.", he said quietly. Jace seemed to echo it. "He wanted to give it to you!", he said in a much louder tone than Derek did. Jace set the book down, tearing out the page, holding up and ink drawing of them. "I attended an art school, aren't I fantastic?", Jace said.

Derek looked at it. It wasn't at all what he thought it would be. "It's, you two laying on me, when I was a wolf outside....", Derek said. He seemed to look at Jace. "Thanks Jay, I couldn't ask for a better brother, Jay.", Derek said.

The picture showed Derek, as a wolf, on his stomach as Rift was running a hand along Derek's furry neck, as Jace was sound asleep.

Derek seemed to be crying.

Rift smirked a bit. Derek had apparently just wanted a picture of the two of them, probably as humans yet Jace decided to include himself in the picture. "I guess you draw what you know, and the image is still fresh in your mind..." she said, looking at the picture, then up to Derek. It was kind of odd, he was so emotional. He had seemed rather cold and blunt when she first met him. "You okay?"

"Yeah.", Derek said as Jace stood up. "Thanks Jay, it's really nice.", he said as Jace handed it to Derek. "Hey, Rift, it's for you.", he said, offering it to Rift. Jace seemed to have a similar mind set as Derek, as he slept in his shorts. Except he was really wearing shorts. He was less muscular than Derek, but he was enough to say he was an experienced athelete. Derek looked at him. "Just because I do it Jay, doesn't mean you have to.", Derek growled out.

Rift took the picture carefully between her slender fingers. "Thank you..." she uttered quietly, slowly walking over and setting it on one of the dressers. After all, she couldn't very well hold onto it through the night. It would get crumpled or ripped that way. Glancing back to the two brothers, she smiled. "Maybe he's hot," Rift said, keeping her eyes up as she walked back to them. She looked up to the top bunk, wondering if there was even enough room on the beds.

"You can go up.", Derek said. "If two people went up there, it would have to be your and Jay, and I wont' force him up there.", Derek said as Jace seemed to go quiet. "I'll just stay down here, give Jay some brotherly love and you can rest.", Derek said as Jay swung his legs around to the side on his bunk, and Derek joined him. They seemed almost, like blood relatives, but they weren't.

Rift shook her head. "You're the one who needs the rest," Rift said, taking a seat on the floor. "Besides, I have sleeping disorders that naturally keep me up most of the time anyway..." She didn't like the idea, partially because she would be taking his bed away.

"No, I insist.", Derek said, but Jace put an arm on Derek's choulder and whispered in his ear. "Jay, you don't--", he started, getting cut off by Jace getting up, and grabbing an ipod, a bag of skittles, and his sketchbookand pen. He then tossed them up to the top bunk, and climbed up. "It's actually not that bad up here.", he said, popping a skittle into his mouth. "Now little Jay will stay up here so the grown-ups play their games.", he snorted out. "Jay, I wanted you down here, you told me you didn't like heights, so you--", he got cut of by Jace. "One: Jay is reserved for girlfriends. Two: Your my brother, you call me Jason. Three: Clean my bed up if you do it.", he said, loud music blaring from the headphones.

Derek motioned for Rift to join him.

Rift was surprised by Jace's gesture, then blushed furiously. Do it?! She thought. Right there, with his brother in the room?! She seemed easily flustered and embarrassed by situations, but she crawled to the bed as Derek motioned for her anyway. She sat on the bed next to him, fingers tapping the mattress.

"So...", Derek said, unsure of what to do now.

"Right..." Rift said, pretty much agreeing in the lack of any real ideas situation. She tried to keep her eyes focused on either the bed or Derek's face, trying to avoid...well, taking in too much at once. She leaned to him, resting her cheek on him.

He seemed to like that, only to flip them both onto their backs. He made sure they both were on the bed. Now he got to lay his head on her, choosing her abdomen.

Rift let out a bit of a squeak as he flipped her, landing back onto the bed. She glanced down at him, petting his hair as he lay his head on her stomach. She lay her head back, closing her eyes gently to rest a bit. Not sleep, but just some rest. She continued gently stroking his hair.

Derek fell asleep quickly. Jace noticed that, and turned off the ipod. He climbed down the ladder slowly. "Hey.", he whispered from on the ladder. "I thought you should know, me and him are diabetics, but dont' tell him you know.", Jace said, slipping out of the room.

"Hm?" Rift asked quietly as Jace walked out. Diabetic? What does that have to do with anything? she wondered. It's not like she was trying to force feed him sugar or something, after all. She shrugged, guessing that Jace was just an odd one as she tilted her head back into the pillow, resting some more. She fell into a near sleep, her body completely relaxed and her mind at ease.

Jace didn't even make a noise when he came back. The back of skittles, hardly even opened, dropped to the ground. Jace sounded like he was crying, or some other form of being upset. Derek twitched and woke up. "What's going on?", he asked. "What happened to Ja--Jason?", he asked Rift.

Rift quickly partially sat up like doing a crunch, keeping the lower half of her torso down where Derek was still lying on her. She glanced around the dark room, eyes quickly adjusting as they dilated. She saw the mass of Jace on the ground, the whimpering sounds coming from him. "I don't know, he's over there," Rift said, tapping Derek and pointing. She couldn't really move all too well with him being on top of her.

Derek got up. He grabbed a red, somewhat oval thing off the right dresser. It seemed to make a click as it touched Jace. "Dammit.", Derek said, taking the skittles and dropping them into the trash. He then picked up Jace. "Jason, your not supposed to go on highs like that.", Derek said, almost like a mother. Jace seemed to smile. "Soo-- sorry De-- Derek.", he said. "Rift, you should take the top bunk. Now.", Derek said as he set Jace on the bed.

Rift quickly scurried to the edge of the bed, standing and walking across the room as Derek got the tester from the night stand. She stood in the dark, well away from the two as he lifted Jace onto the bed. "Does he need insulin?" she asked, using her vague knowledge of diabetes.

She slowly walked back to the beds, and glanced up to the top bunk, then to Derek and Jace. She sighed, climbing up quickly, trying to avoid any peeking under her skirt as she went. She curled up, bringing her knees to her chest as she looked down on the room.

"No, we only need three a day, He'll just need to rest.", Derek said, messing up Jace's hair so he looked like Derek. "That's cute, your starting to sleep already Jason.", Derek said, leaving his hand on Jace's shoulder. "I'll come up when he's asleep, just on the ladder.", Derek said.

Rift placed her chin between her knees and chest, siting up and waiting. "I don't take up to much room..." she says quietly. She didn't really know what she wanted, but her heart was beating a little heavy.

Jace fell asleep fast. He was worn out. Derek gave him a brotherly hug, and Jace tried to shake it off. "Good night Derek.", Jace mumbled out, derek merely sighed. Then he climbed up the ladder and stayed on it. "So, I'm sorry about Jason.", he said.

"Why?" Rift asked, at the other end of the bed. There was still room for Derek to climb up, just not as much had they been on the bottom bunk. "He's your brother, and you're taking care of him."

"Yeah.", Derek said, refusing to get on the bed. "He knows I'm not good at being a brother, and he doesn't expect me to be good, I guess I'm trying to hard.", Derek said. "However I guess there's too much going on right now, and I want him away from here.", Derek said. The sun was rising.

"Want him away? Why?" Rift asked, crawling across the bed to Derek. She glanced over at the window, the sun beginning to lighten up the dark sky. "We've been up all night..." she said, mildly surprised as it hadn't really seemed to be that long. Yet at the same time, she already felt she'd known Derek for quite a long time.

"Uh, it's just too dangerous here, I want to get everyone here out.", Derek said. "Even that bitch Dannika, and the fag Kylie.", he said. "I mean I grew up in a lab before I was adopted. Then I watched my blood siblings die!", he said, Jace whimpering. "Oh Jason, I'm sorry...", Derek said, but Jace stood up. "If we're leaving, then I'm for it.", Jace said.
